MFH 1/12 Porsche 956 NEW MAN Version
I'm calling this one complete. Even though technically it is not complete due to challenges lining up the exhaust tips with the body panel openings. I'm going to have to make new ones. Also, despite all my efforts to make the body fit properly, after paint and clear, etc., it still doesn't fit as you can see in the doors. Oh, and disregard the fact that I put the front wheels on the wrong side as evident by the "LF" and "RF" being incorrect.
Anyway, this is the Model Factory Hiro 1/12th Scale Porsche 956 Short Tail New Man car as raced in the 1984 Nurburgring 1000km. The model was built mostly out of the box with the addition of a few connectors and additional wiring and plumbing. The model is NOT a replica of the real car but it builds into a likeness of the real car. (fuel system, among other things are incorrect compared to the real car) The paint is Zero Paint New Man yellow, Tamiya Black and Tamiya White. All cleared with Upol Clear decanted and sprayed through the airbrush. The kit was quite challenging to build. I had some issues with parts fit but I'm convinced it was my fault since this is my first MFH build. I'm sure if I had planned ahead more than I did and test fit the parts more than I did I could have avoided some of my issues. The decals laid down perfectly on this car much to my surprise. I know some folks have had issues with the MFH decals cracking and breaking into pieces. I'm thankful that didn't happen to me. I am disappointed that the yellow on the decals and the yellow paint did not match very well. I have no idea which one is right but I really think the Zero Paint is the correct color. So, here it is... (for now). One day I will revisit the body fitment issues and try a few more things. At the moment, I need to move on to something new. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Eric
Very nice clean build and I enjoyed the WIP on this kit. I hope you can make it back to the NNL East in April of 2016 and bring the 956 along. Jim |
