Re: My Biggest Fear....

Truth though is, if she could get what you told her you paid for them, she'd be doing really, really well.

Enjoy them while you have them. All of them!

Re: My Biggest Fear....

So true! (I am ashamed to say )

Another fear of mine is that I am a bigger wuss than I thought.

Not so long ago I went through my stash which has so many kits that I know I wlll never, ever, ever, ever build them all. I had the strong intention of thinning it out.

The result? I couldn't part with a single kit and in the meantime have actually bought some more

Like I said - wuss

This is not cowardice.... you know that plastic and resin couldn't be affected by mold for millennium.... at least if you seal decals

I know that I wouldn't be able to build all (TBH not even a fraction) but isn't great to enter on a hobby shop any time you open the workshop and do all the mess you like???

Re: My Biggest Fear....

I've been selling off much of my big scale stuff so my stash doesn't take up as much space anymore. I'm not down to keeping it in a cupboard like the 1/43rd guys but it's progress. I still have more kits than I could ever build (250ish) as I'm a slow plodding builder. I justify the excess by reminding myself that today I'm crazy for one kit and tomorrow I'm passionate for the one next to it. Next year I'll be back to being excited about the first one again. I agree it is also great walking into my own little hobby shop that only stocks the things I like.

Recently I identified THREE awesome kits that really withstand the fickleness of my modeling desires and made it a goal to build all three in the next three years. I seized upon the idea after noticing numerous rare and pristine kits on eBay being sold by the widow of the last owner saying: "He just loved this model to death and took such good care of it." I may not get to all 250 but I have a really good shot at getting through those THREE. When they are done I'll take a break. Then I'll probably make a new top THREE list.

My MFH Sharknose is in my top THREE and I'm building it right now. The other two are being planned out with colors, livery, detailed research, and hunts for generic fiddly bits. For me, it's a way of focusing my passion for the hobby, and minimizing future regrets.
