Nünberg toyfair - new kits ahead.

Hi

Found these pics at Grand Prix models FB page - interesting

1:12 Porsche Carrera GT from Tamiya

1:24 Porsche 934 from Tamiya. Looks like a model with half engine like the old GT2. Fine kit anyway that will fill a hole. The old ESCI kit is hereby only a collectors item.

Yes Ebbro 1:20 Tyrrell 002 (Cevert). Looking good!In reality it can be 003 or 004 as well. Tyrrell 002 was driven by the taller Cevert. 003 by the shorter Stewart. 004 was a late 1971- 1972 car IIRC.

Ebbro again - Tyrrell 003 with early nose.

Not a kit but True Scale Miniatures 1:18 Turbine Lotus... GOOOOOOD loking!

Other news is that the old 1:12 motorcycle riders from Tamiya gets a reissue - no decals though?

The Tyrrells are great..!! I've wanted the 002 in 1/20 plastic for a long time. My prayers have been answered thanks to Ebbro..!! They really are making some beautiful kits...

What is Ebbro? A collaboration with Tamiya or other?

Ebbro until recently was a die cast company. The owner is a former tamiya engineer and there appears to be a lot of goodwill between the two. Ebbro is now testing out the model market. So far their offerings have been 70's formula 1 cars.

Re: Nünberg toyfair - new kits ahead.

Excellent!! After learning today that Ebbro are doing the Lotus 49 (of which I'll have at least 2), now there's 2 classic Tyrrells on the way. I'll have 1 of each thanks. I still remember to this day JYS commenting in an interview for a doco being done on him, on the naturally, fluid driving talent of Cevert. And his death, whilst not the primary reason for his retirement, vindicating his decision to do so at the end of '73.

Whilst Ebbro are on this slant for historic F1's, it would be nice to also see from them: Phil HIll's 156 sharknose, Ickx's Ferrari 312, Black Jack's Brabham/Repco,Fangio's Maserati 250F, Ferrari-Lancia D50, the all conquering '55 Merc W196...

By the looks of the Tamiya and Ebbro markings on the display box, I would imagine that Ebbro are using Tamiya's 2CV as the base kit and added the rest to create the Fourgonnette.
