1/16th 57 chevy turbo promod
Hi guys:
Long time lurker here, Not sure why i picked the username i did when i registered in 07 lol. Anyways i thought i would share my build with you guys. I have been working on this build for over a year now and this is the first time i have ever attempted a build with so much scratch building and detail. I will post pictures of where i'm at now on the project because there would be just to much to post, I will post my Fotki link if you would like to check out the build start up to this point. micronitro turned the wheels, firebottles, Co2 bottle and brake calipers ,hubs, front struts and rear shocks. Flashpoint did the Body, tires and rear end. I can't remember off hand who did the block heads and valve covers. I scratch built everything else. http://public.fotki.com/prostreet502...-chevy-promod/ ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Re: 1/16th 57 chevy turbo promod
I hope the body is not going to be a permanent mount and cover all that up. 1:16 - a logical scale but one you don't see much.

Re: 1/16th 57 chevy turbo promod
I guess every site gets it's following. I never knew of the Carmodmag site. Always thought the drag/custom/rod guys were not progressing much. How wrong I was! They were just on a different site. The 1/16th scale and 1/8 projects are amazing. I really like that Mercedes LSR streamliner :~)!! Joe, I'm glad you posted the build here. But others should take the time to explore other forums. Not sure if one's "allowed" to mention other sites or if it's just rude??? So I'll let the mods give their opinion..in the quest for spreading the WIP threads on the WWW. It turned me on to a whole new batch of vendors like micronitro, Shapeways, dirtmodeler, etc

Re: 1/16th 57 chevy turbo promod
Little update, I haven't been doing much to this lately. Just haven't been motivated, So this week i got a little done. I built a new RacePak dash, The one i did before just didn't do it for me. This one was built i 2 pieces so the screen would sit down in the unit like the real one does, i added a clear piece of plastic for the screen but it is hard to see in the pictures. The base i added carbon decal and Futraction Dzus fasteners and a line for the cable out of the back that goes up under the dash. Hope to get back on track this weekend.
