[WIP] Mercedes-Benz SL 65 AMG Black Series /Aoshima+Aber 1:24/

Hello
This is my first VIP here on AF. I would like to present all of you a built of a one superb car Mercedes-Benz SL 65 AMG Black Series with the very new PE set from Aber. Right now I build it for almost two weeks.
I've seen here a few BS kits and my will be another one I hope as good as the rest.
Started position:

I've started from the body, my model will be in metallic orange with a black matt wheels and some addition of black and carbon details.

Here are the frets of Aber set, some details are missed because I will show them later:

First step:

All the parts fit almost too perfect and I have to make some space for painting. For example the hood will be narrowed about 0,5-,7mm:

The hood.
Narrowed and removed the fiction under details. The top vent are resizes for bigger dimension - simply cut for wide open. First PE set on.

Compare Aber vs Aoshima. Big differences between them. My friend who designed the Aber set did a perfect job.

Some progress with a choosen colour.

Here some trick how I bent the PE for a curves.

Another part of the body - face. Abers nets with a modified parts of Aoshima for connection with the underbody. The main net behind the star need a bit more spaces in upper corners for perfect fitting.

Something easier the brake discs and calipers. In my version the calipers I will paint with gloss black.

I will return to them later.

Another small and easy part to do.

Now the main point of Aber set - hood hinges, movable after finishing.

Sorry for poor english.

A very impressive start to what should be a fantastic build. I am very impressed with the details on the underside of the hood as wells as the lifting elements.

Wow, that Aber PE set is WAY more detailed than the Hobby Design one I used!
Amazing detail on the hood hinges & even changing the underhood! WOW!

No apologies are needed for your english Portalus. The Aber frets look like a very impressive set of P/E. I'm following your build closely as I''m starting my own kit shortly.

Re: [WIP] Mercedes-Benz SL 65 AMG Black Series /Aoshima+Aber 1:24/

Here some another comparision Aoshima vs Aber:

Some another soldering practice, smaller rod has dimension 0.6mm.

My worbrench and hinges almost done.

In a big shortcut. Chassis and suspensions test fitted and prepared for painting. There is a so small details so it should be easy and fast step.

Some another modifications for easier painting and final assembly.

Body painted Gunze Surfacer 1200. Panel lines I made deeper by using Trumpeter scriber.

Final color - some kind of orange from Lambo palette.

Now body is drying after clearcoat 2K.
