How many McLaren F1s have you seen?

I was thinking about my luck (or too a certain extent lack of it) when its come to seeing F1s in the flesh, and I thought it might be interesting to see how fortunate everyone else has been on here.

So it's not just text add your favourite photo you took of each one you saw too, if you have one. It'll be interesting to see how many of the total production run we've seen between us.

I'll kick of with my five which are: 044, 06R, 12R, 13R and 17R:

018
020
01R
06R
040
046
10R

Re: How many McLaren F1s have you seen?

Hello,

don't forget there is a part of chance

14 for me and #007 I missed it was under my feet in Monaco but inaccessible. I missed too XP3 and 10R during their stay in Paris.

In order :
#073 2003
#06R 2005
#046 (twice)
#10R 2007
#24R
#15R 2010
#16R
#05R
#01R #20R #XPLM at factory
#22R 2011
#LM3
#21R

Very strange : only 2 road cars, 2 LM and 10 GTR, it's the contrary of the production numbers

Re: How many McLaren F1s have you seen?

I'm at 13 now as most will probably recall from reading my Monterey thread. Let's not talk about the ones I might have missed.

I got a great head start on October 26th, 1997 when I saw 6 longtail GTRs racing at Laguna Seca - a very memorable day, but this was still about 4 years before I got on this track. I'll spare the photos here as I did not take any of my own but as far as chassis numbers go they were 20R, 21R, 22R, 23R, 27R and 28R.

My first road car was #067 in September 2003. I always say that I saw this one almost by chance and it is true there was a bit of luck involved. My pictures were terrible, but I remember the moment vividly. What a car!

Then in the span of two months in 2005 I saw three. Leno's #015 at the Art Center Car Classic in July:

XP4 and #068 in August at Laguna Seca:

A year later two again - #014 at RM's Monterey auction and #016 at Laguna Seca:

Then five long years I waited before getting to see #036, again in Monterey. What a stunner.

Not to be greedy as I know there are some who have yet to see even one McLaren F1, but I really can't wait for the next one!

Re: How many McLaren F1s have you seen?

I understand Erik the long time between two. sometimes, I said "will I see one today or never ?" Now for us, it is easier to see one but before to know this forum, it was quite difficult.

I consider to be happy especially because I saw well each chassis except maybe three at MTC like #20R I don't pass along.

See a F1 in surprise is the best I think

That must have been really annoying, to know that they were there and you couldn't see them.

Re: How many McLaren F1s have you seen?

The #046 pic was taken at the Goodwood Revival [I think when it was in it's 2nd year ] and the XP5 pic was taken at Genesis the day before the filming of Top Gear, I think the one when they showed #061 v the Veyron and they got XP5 in the studio.

The #013 pic was taken whilst Carrs at Exeter had it up for sale in 2007 and I went on a road trip to see it with countachal. See here

Re: How many McLaren F1s have you seen?

#009 - Numerous times.

#014 - RM Auction '06

#016 - Laguna Seca '06

016R - Moments before it's departure from AU.

Australia is a lonely place to be for F1s...
Will update with pics when I get back to my home computer's HDs.
