But, with his "tub"...

Currently, I'm here:

You can see the entire WIP here:
(Unfortunately in french, sorry I'm french, but many, many pics...)

Oh la la! I know what would look good parked next to that on the same shelf!
Looks very nice so far - hope it will be ready for display at Le Mans 2011 (or Le Mans Classic 2012!!!).

Re: FORD GT40 Mk1 1/8

Hi Dan,

There's nothing wrong with either (a) another GT40 or (b) another 1/8 project! That's a very impressive piece of work - wow! I've started looking through the WIP - the body pattern is fantastic on it's own, and I really like the shots of the rear suspension: 1/8 balljoints, mmm...! I'll have to spend some time going through the rest of it - I'm sure there's plenty to learn from in there.

All the best,

SB

Re: FORD GT40 Mk1 1/8

dan,

i've been meaning to reply in your french forum, but kept shying away. my french has been out of use for 20 years now, except for the annual trip to le mans. i have been watching your progress for a long time and am always amazed at what you do. i think i have saved every pic you posted (in your threads about this from several forums) for refernence on how to properly build a model. i'm only lacking the tools and probably the skills to do something like that, but wow, this is an amazing build. excellent job.
what actually impressed me the most is that you are seemingly using the real materials for most parts. that really adds to the realism. and i have to agree with your friends in your forum - sometimes it's only lacking the sound to feel like this is actually the real car!

Sky, as you can see, my English is not very good. You are welcome!

Well, today, throttle cable and comp radiator tank:

A multi media tank...

The engine bay is quasi complete...

Incroyable, formidable et....off the scale!

Thank you for sharing this with people who would normally not get a chance to see such superb work because of the language barrier. As you can see, words aren't needed - jsut the photos
