Question '03 Cavalier headlight problem

I currently have an issue with my driver's side headlight -- it is much dimmer than the passenger side (with the daytime running lights and when the driving lights are on). When I drive at night and switch to my highbeams, the highbeam indicator light stays on when switching back to low beams. Would like some input. Thanks!

If the one light stays dimmer than the other one there could be a bad connection or the bulb might need to be replaced. check the wires for frays or anything like that. about the indicator light staying on, really have no clue.

I had already ruled out the headlight - put a new one in and still had the same problem. Will definitely check for frayed wires though. Thanks!

Yup my guess is the bulb isnt getting enough juice thus causing it to be dimmer.

Re: '03 Cavalier headlight problem

It is probably a grounding issue on one or the other of the headlights.

I fixed the problem by buying one of those high-performance headlight harnesses ona popular auction site for $15 or so, plugged it into the good headlight, connected two power and two ground, tie-wrapped it nice and neat, and voila, two working headlights and a new inspection sticker.

Thanks for your input...sounds like an inexpensive fix to my problem. I will give it a try.

I also have those upgraded harnesses on both my headlights because I put higher watt bulbs on them. I paid $15 for 2 of the harnesses.
