Angry 1986 trooper 2 water pump replacement

I'm trying to replace the water pump on my 1986 Isuzu trooper 2.currently i'm trying to remove the timing belt cover to reveal the two bolts in need to remove to get the water pump off.I have all the bolts off of the timing belt cover but the cover still seems to be held by something.I've tried to pry it off only to tear the cover a little.Do I need to pry some more on it or is there something my chiltons repair manual isn't telling me?

Re: 1986 trooper 2 water pump replacement

I'm assuming this is a 2.3? I'm not very familiar with 2.3's but if it's like the 2.6, you got to take the bottom pully off. If your pulley is off and all of the bolts are out, it should come right off.
