Re: 01 Max Cat Converter Hard/Easy Replacement
Some dealership shops (at least here) have a fixed price on 'every' imaginary replacement. Sometimes their pricing doesnt change during ages, even though rusting quadruples the work time, especially exhaust/manifold related. I prefer to work every detail myself, but as one ol Peugeot exhaust manifold gasket was 2$, their swap/charge 2hrs, I went to dealership: they worked 12hrs on that ... of course I was so sorry for em... I guess I would have spent 3x the time.
My non educated guess is that CAT swap is easy (dont know about accessibility, never worked on 01 CAT). Call and ask local stealership on this particular issue, that will give an good estimation of your project as they give their est. time & price. |

Re: 01 Max Cat Converter Hard/Easy Replacement
Thanks for the replies. I talked to dealer 832.00 for converter 6hrs labor.Just to let everyone no.This is a friends car.I was just trying to help them out.Dealer says (and i know them well)u need a torch do to rust & what nots like nahcapohjola was sayin. But out side of that they didnt comment on.I'm just thinking if they are getting 6 hrs on a lift & with all the right tools it must be pretty envolved. Now i know it wont take them 6 hrs but maybe 4 So should i try to help out a friend or let them spend 1300. + tax
Thanks again to everyone btw i have torches & what nots just no lift!!! |
