the most powerful FWD 3000GT has only 220hp and that is flywheel, the srt4 has 230 to the wheels and its way lighter.


And to the remarks that the srt4 is a drag racer, that is false, it has very good suspension stock, has virtually no tq steer (its been given as an example for several car because of that), and that quaife just pulls it into the corners beatifully.

True the suspension will not be stock as fine tuned as that of a integra type r or EVO, but this is why you have factory suspension stages.

SRT-4 = about 230 at the wheels
VR4 = I dunno, around 250 probably, but it's AWD, not FWD
FWD 3000GT/Stealth = about 180 at the wheels

DOHC has 222HP
VR4 has 325HP -cept 91-93s had 320HP
All stealths/3000GTs are FWD cept the RT/TT and the VR4.. but i thought there was one year that they made a TT steath with FWD

Wrong - 91-93 has 300 HP and a 5-spd manual, 94-99 has 320 HP and a 6-spd manual

Even the most powerful FWD Honda's have NO torque steer.
None at all.

I used to be able to dump the clutch at 8,000rpm with out my hands on the wheel, acclerate to about 60kph then flat shit into 2nd, and the car would track in a perfectly straight line.


While Im sure the SRT has awsome handling, better than at least 90% of the FWD cars on the road, I can garuntee there are other FWDs that are better.
The differnce of course is none of them have anything like the power the SRT does.
The cars that do have as much, or more hp are either setup more as luxury sports/touring cars, or have issues. For example the SAAB Vigen is regarded as a bit of handful, suffering from terriable torque steer.


I would love the opetunity to drive an SRT, the idea of putting that much power to the ground just through the front wheels sounds like a lot of fun, especialy if its set up with very hard rear suspension

Actually earlier in thgis thread I've mentioned already a few FWD cars that stock for stock have better suspension setups. Integra type R, Mazdaspeed Protege, SVT focus.

The srt4 does not come with a suspension system as finelly tuned as those cars, it comes just with an adequate one and its up to the owner to purchase or not the KW suspension stages custom made for mopar.

I've driven a few, quite hard and its an absolute blast. That front quaife torsen diff just bites into the corners. I just love that pull exiting the corner especially with such a powerful car, something that rwd purists will not experience.

I am seriously thinking about getting one sometimes, setting it up with the stage 3 suspension, which is fully adjustable and have fun with it.

Actually, there are a few FF sedans and coupes that put a bit more power down at the front wheels, and all of them come from The General.

Except for the 4.0L DOHC V8's in the Caddy and the Aurora, the whole lot of those cars use GM's infamous Roots blown 3800series OHV V6.

yes but as moppie pointed out those are more luxury sport/touring cars and I don't think any of them can match the srt4 in acceleration

Theres always a saleen ford focus or the ford focus performance project tht was supposed to take onj the new gallardo had 500 hp and did run better track time then the gallardo!
