Fujimi are beautiful, I knew I could rely on them for those 3 Italian cars (even if I don't expect the correct interiors for the Abarths). With the models they have been putting out lately I expect the 458 to be superb.

Tamiya going head to head with Hasegawa with the Lotus 79? Sounds like fun.

With the exception of the Fujimi 458, i thought the recent past announcements and releases were more to my liking (SL63, California, DBS, ZR-1 and SLS).

I agree. Alot of these are duplications. Not sure wich 458 will be better. Fujimi probably wont put a motor in their kit and Revell will.

Why another LP400?? The Fujimi Enthusiast LP400 is already all you could want in a kit.

Fujimi Enthusiast LP400 kit...the body and engine is ok..but the Lambo doors are not acceptable...u know the countach doors are the soul of this car...Fujimi just made it wrong and ugly...u see the hinge and window frame...far from ok...

The Fujimi has a few things that need to be corrected, like any kit but I highly doubt Aoshima will do it better. The motor in the Fujimi kit I think is very good for a plastic kit. Just because its an old kit does not make it bad. In fact some of the new stuff they are doing is alot less accurate.
Look at the Fujimi 917K for example.

The Enthusiast series from Fujimi are hard to build because they have alot of detail and parts. When built they are some of the best looking plastic models on the market even today.

Re: 2010 Shizuoka Hobby Show Announcements

A Ferrari 458 from Fujimi is great news to me! now I'm anxious to compare both (Fujimi/Revell) and see wich will be the best one , I wish Fujimi would produce it like the "old Enthusiast Series" full of detail and with good bodywork accuracy, but I'm also affraid it will be a simple curbside.

As for the Lotus 79 from Hasegawa and Tamiya, are those guys nuts?... I hope this is not another case of "cannibalism" the edition of two identical models at the same time could result in bad losses for both companies, not a good idea, especially when times are tough as they are now. Wouldn't like to see any of these big kit producers go bankrupt, could it be a simple coincidence the fact that they decided to produce the same model kit at the same time? or could there be a second-intention behind that decision?

Hasegawa had shown rumors they were doing the 79 kit last summer. My guess is the Hasegawa will be more detailed and maybe better. I think Tamiya has met their match as far as detail is concerned judging by the Hasegawa 312 kits.

I have to agree, Hasegawa can match Tamiya any time.

I have to disagree slightly - in terms of detail, for sure, but in terms of fit and engineering, I think Tamiya are still a way ahead. Things like self aligning parts, and moulding the parts of lights so each piece only needs to be painted one colour and they fit together without glue... I find that Hasegawa kits always make me think that they feel a bit "flimsy", whereas Tamiya kits feel like you could put the whole kit together without glue if you chose...

I also think that if the Revell 458 is up to their latest standards, then it'd give a standard Fujimi kit a run for its money. If the Fujimi is a new "Enthusiast" then I guess the bet is off...

bestest,
M.
