trans/fuel problems

Have a 2000 Leganza 2.2L that doesn't accelerate as it should when entering the highway, and sometimes pulls back and stalls a bit. I Changed the transmission oil but it didn't make a difference. Another problem is that when i'm putting gas the pump keeps stopping and it makes short deposits of fuel in the tank before stopping again and again. I'm thinking it could be the catalytic converter and /or fuel filter/pump problems. Does anyone know which part is more likely the problem and how these fuel problems are possibly triggering the transmission problem? Thanks
