98 suburban dies/won't turn over except on jump

98 Gmc Suburban. It randomly won't turnover. You go to start it and it is completely dead, no lights, clock resets etc. Jump it and it starts. It can run weeks/days without doing it again.

once it died while we were driving. Tried to start it samething dead!! Jumped it, it was fine for a few days. Battery tests fine, recently replaced wires, cap/roter, and wires.

Any suggestions?

Re: 98 suburban dies/won't turn over except on jump

you may check your alternator. it can cause a no start condition and various driveablilty concerns, depending on what part of the alternator fails. you can take it to Auto Zone or Advance Auto and they will usually test your battery, alternator, and starter for free, so if you go, take advantage of it n just get all 3 tested.
