Welcome to AF!
I'm afraid that may be true, Matt. Personally I've never even seen one, as they aren't available in the U.S. But we do have people here from all over the world, so I'm sure there'll be someone to swap stories with. Why's yours called a "Quiksilver?" She's a beaut, by the way. |

Cheers for the welcome
My cars called a Quiksilver because Peugeot were granted the licence to use the surfing brand Quiksilver's logo on their cars. The 106 Quiksilver differs from other 106 models, it has the same body kit as a 106 GTi, Quiksilver logo's on the seats, white dials, and a 1.4cc engine (the GTi has a 1.6 16valve engine, other 106's are either 1.1cc or 1.5cc diesels). Here's an updated picture taken earlier today at a club meeting......... Matt

I know Toyota's got a deal here with Roxy, a division on Quiksilver, to sell Roxy-badged ECHOs... But your car seems a bit cooler than the poor ECHO. :flash: |

I'm not into surfing myself but in places like Cornwall and Devon surfing is really popular.
Glad you like my car I've spent nearly £4000 on it since I've had it but when people stop and watch as you drive past or the car is on the front row of the club stand at one of the UK's biggest show's it makes it all worthwhile Here's a pic of my car at the show Matt

Hi Buddy!
My previous car was a 106 GTI, quite well known iof you do the owners club scene, R10 PUG was the plate. I will get some pics up. But most of this site is States based, so yeah, you my find yourself alone! What suspension you got on it? I still have some 106 GTI front springs and shocks lying about, only covered about 4000 miles. Also standard rear silencer, mint, and a de-cat pipe, never used! Also, passenger side front body kit arch, never used! |

Hi Guiddy
Can't say I've seen your old GTi around but with a plate like that should'nt be to hard to spot I'm using PI springs on the front with the standard shocks. Have thought about uprating the shocks but the standard ones are fine for now. If the de-cat pipe fits a Quiksilver I might be interested in buying if your selling?? Matt

Ok, here is a pic. The best ones are at a mates house, I must pic them up!
The best thing I have is five minutes of video from Mira '99, the Peugeot Sport Club day. The car went round the track like a rocket, the Pipercross Filter and Magnex exhaust howling like a good 'un! I was passing the camera man at 7000 rpm! The front is lower, the fact I am washing the car on a slope has made it sit back on the hand brake. The de-cat pipe was for the GTI . If you can find out if it fits, you are welcome to buy it! |

I have an 106 too
No you are not the only 106 owner here. I have a 99 Rallye 16v. It has the Peugeot Sport air intake, free-flow exhaust and a superchip. I tuned the cams on the dyno and I managed to get 145,4 hp. The owner of the dyno was impressed considering the limited mods. Apart from that I have Eibach springs, OSRAV fully adjustable shocks and Brembo disks. It is fast and corners REALLY good.

the quiksilver is a nice looking wee car but its a shame that the engine isnt very tuneable. I considered getting one coz of the group 5 insurance but there was very little in the way of engine mods... just things like an exhaust and air filter...
the rallye is a wikkid little motor too and feels like a proper mini racer! i like my gti though coz even as standard the only hot hatch that will kill it would be the cliosport 172's and V6's... but wot the hey! sweet car...go buy one! |
