91 Accord EX rpm question.
Just baught this car and need a little help.
Have a 91 accord ex auto... Was just wondering if my rpm is right. On the highway at about 80mph I'm turning about 3700 rpms in d4... Just wanted to see what everybody else rpms at that speed were.Seems kind of high to me. 70 mph is about 3400 rpms. My 98 civic only turns 3000 at those speeds thats why I think its a little high. Thanks in advance. |

My 90 Accord LX auto- if I remember correctly - turns about 3000rpms at 70mph. So it does sound like yours is running a little high. Does it feel like the torque converter is "locked" at those speeds, or is there a little "slip" if you tap the accelerator at those speeds? I've noticed that the lock-up function is worth about 400-500rpms. Perhaps your torque converter is not locking up.
