Fumes and smoke at Start up
I've got a 2002 Q45 with a little under 35,000 miles on it that has heavy blue smoke and fumes that smell like gasoline at start up. Dealership says this is normal and that Q45 piston rings take a long time to set. Anyone else experience this or know anything about it?

Try to explain in detail what and when. How does the engine run at first start-up?Does the smoke linger in the air or does it disappear immediatly?how long does it smoke for?

What kind of oil are you using? (Weight?) Was the engine rebuilt? (Ring job, valvetrain work,etc...) Where does the gas smell come from? (engine, trunk, driverseat?) |
