Just got 92 integra and have a tranny ??

Ok so i just got a 92 integra ls with the 5 speed and it has a street/strip clutch in it and it is pretty new. Is it common for the synchro to go out on these? Because when you hit 3rd it grinds a little bit and he said that is the 2ed tranny he had in there and they both did the same thing. About how much is it to get them fixed? (just the 3rd and 5th gear one)?

well first you need to know what trans you have, if its a YS1, S1, or S2. the YS1 is the shortest gear ratio on teh market, it is best for all motor, there are parts like a rebuild kit for them on ebay, they go for almost 200. thats good considering the price of a YS1 $450.
