2001 Auto manual?

Hi, I am looking into buying a 2001 IS300, I wanted to know if the 2001 transmission is an auto manual? Its hard to tell by looking at it. And what are some good first mods for it? Thanks - Joe

I'm 99.9% sure that all 2001's are auto. They didn't come with manuals until 2002.

There are a lot of mods to do with an IS - just depends on how much money you want to invest. Take a look at is300.net for ideas.

My mods so far include intake, exhaust, wheels, sways, springs, and custom interior. I may be replacing the header this summer - not sure yet. You can also go f/i (turbo, s/c, nos), coilovers, bodykit, etc. Just depends on how much you want to spend.

Good luck!
