upgrading to tach instrument cluster ?
the factory installed instrument cluster with the tach, can it be installed in a truck with a cluster without the tach? Is there expensive hardware to buy to hoow the tach up for it to work i suppose its off the distributor? Not sure at all looking for answers. Thanx Raul

Re: upgrading to tach instrument cluster ?
there is only one wire that comes from the distributor....but on the back of the instrument cluster, there is 3 plugs on the back of the clusters with a tach. If you do not have a tach now, then you would not have all of the plugs/harness.
I have a gray tweeded dash with the instrument cluster that has a tach and there is already white face gauges installed for sale if you are interested. go to my page and check out my truck and let me know. |

It is not really very hard to find out. The tach only needs a 12V power supply and a signal input from the ignition coil.
You can remove your existing instrument real easy and quick and start looking for extra plugs that will match with the new instrument dash. Worst case is you can trace the tach inputs and power leads and just run the new wires. |
