Re: Books on the Mclaren - Which ones to get and why

The USA Tour Book should be with me in the coming days

I've gone for number 42, to keep in line with my other books [age when I bought them ]

Mine will be number 17

So, I will own #71/85 (1971 is my year of birth), #17/55 (Tuscany tour) and #17/55 (USA tour). It's difficult to own #71/55...

if I remember correctly I have 40/85 of the 1st Tour, 08/55 for the 2nd Tour book (cant remember why I opted for this number ), and now hopefully 42/55 for the USA Tour

Re: Books on the Mclaren - Which ones to get and why

Hi, is there someone here who knows the last Official Sales Prices when the Limited Driving Ambition Book with leather cover was for sale on the McLaren webpage. I have in mind the le Mans Edition was 825£ but i am not sure with the 1000 pieces edition.

Thanks a lot. Would also be great to know what its worth today?

Around £400 new but Le Man has the proof IIRC. Current prices are around £600-£700

Re: Books on the Mclaren - Which ones to get and why

What he's asking is for the original purchase price which was 825GBP for leMans Ed and 575 GBP for Regular limited ed. I bought mine from McLaren and still have the receipt.

£425 plus delivery when new for the Limited Driving Ambition.

£30 for the standard over the counter, book sellers edition.

I,m sure the £575 that LM Mike paid for his, was the highest price McLaren had on their website.

Value now? depends on market forces, anything from what Greg has stated upwards.

Just a note - you posted your question at 11:30pm in the UK where most of our members who could offer an answer are based. You waited about 8 hours then to ask for a response - most would have been sleeping. Unfortunately this forum doesn't have quite as much action as it once did, so patience is required.

Re: Books on the Mclaren - Which ones to get and why

I have had 5 of these big books - 2 Le Mans Editions and 3 Ltd Editions pass through my hands, either to fellow collectors or F1 owners. They are a great book, if a bit weighty and hard to store due to their size.

If I ever find another I'll pop it up here for offers

Did someone say "large book"?

That's the $4,100 Ferrari Opus book on the table there. Next to it is your traditional coffee table-sized book - like a retail copy of "Driving Ambition" - for comparison.
