Airconditioning and Gas smell
I just bought a 250,000 mile 93 Q45, which drives great and has 2 problems. The first being the car doesn't have cold aircondition out of the vents. The Compressor and blower are running and there's plenty of freon. The High end presure reading is 255 and the low end is 55. The air coming out of the vents is room temp not cold. could this be the expansion valve, moisture in the system or what? Any ideas?
Secondly, there is a strong gas smell inside the car, but not under the hood. Strange but true. Strong gas vapors inside pretty much all the time, but again nothing smells under the hood. Any ideas on this? I love this car, but I'm 100 miles from any dealer. I'm also finding it very hard to find any Tech manuals out there. I'm sure somebody has got to have have some info. Please help.... |

Re: Airconditioning and Gas smell
Could be a fan switch. The gas smell comes from fuel hoses that need to be replaced or tightened. Every 90-96 Q45 came with a 500-page service manual. You might be able to find one on ebay or call everythinginfiniti.com. Also try nissantechinfo.com.
