help me out guys!!
alright so i bought a 95 nissan 200 sx from a private seller and i test drove it twice and everything was good. i drove it home from his house which was about 2-3 miles and i got it into my driveway and i heard boiling. i lifted the hood and the coolant was boiling and leaking all over. i called the guy back and he said its never happened before and he checked his driveway and there was nothing. he said he'd pay to have it fixed im just wondering whats wrong. i was smoothly shifting and going around 45 mph. so any help would be appreciated.
thanks in advance nick |

Re: help me out guys!!
What was the reading on your temperature gage or do you have a light on that ?
Where was the water boiling out of, the resivoir ? What does the radiator cap gasket look like ? Has the thermostat ever been replaced ? Any noise from the water pump area ? Hopefully you did not overheat the engine to the point of blowing the head gasket. To check if the head gasket is ok, pressurize the cooling system, remove the spark plugs, turn over the engine and see if coolant comes out of any of the spark plug holes or if there any coolant leaking around the exterior of the head and block mating surfaces. |
