I think it is a great suv

It's very nice, cofortable ( atleast for the front two rows). Kinda cramped in the 3rd row. Very stylish, and if it's a 4x4 great offroad handling too. I would have got one if I had kids and a little more $$$$.

I have one and to me its the best of both worlds.
1. Its way too small, I'm 5'6 and I feel camped in it<--bad
2. It get around GREAT in the snow.<---good
3. The backseat is the worst place to sit.<---bad
4. The engine sounds like a 1968 Cadilac<---bad

well thats a piece of pointless information, and the motor isnt that great, for such a large v-6 it puts out very little power in comparison with other v-6's in its class though i did just drive a 2004 not tolong ago and i was mucho imprssed with the interior lotso wood and leather

True, DC 2.7 does make 200 ponies but the real question is, which one will last longer? Based on my prior experience with DC products, my yen er uh money is on the zuke.
SO a higher horsepower engine will do you no good if you have to constantly get sensors and the like replaced. Based on industry news Chrysler is under the gun again to cut costs right down to the bone and it would not surprise me if there are shortcuts taken in areas that are critical to the longevity of the vehicle.

I was victim of this asinine cost cutting with my 2000 Dakota. WOuld you believe that by 28K I had to get the rotors replaced four times? WOUld you believe it took 3 tries to get the PCM programmed so the motor would run properly when cold? WOuld you believe the automatic tranny shifted so hard it make the rear end develop a loud clunk and that the dealer said it and the harsh shifting trans were "normal"

I like my 2002 Vitara. Its a solid dependable vehicle. I don't have to worry whether or not it will hold up. I just drive it and wash it and change the oil. It returns good gas mileage and turns on a dime and gives nine cents worth of change!
