Try turning the key on and press the lock or lock button (really doesn't matter) once and turn the key off. do this three more times but the last time leave the key on, the locks while cycle then hit the lock button on the other remotes and turn the key off.

'95-'98 Honda Odyssey EX Keyless Entry Programming
I have a '98 EX. These instructions as follows worked beautifully for me.
1. Open the driver's door and leave it open. 2. Hold the lock/unlock lever (not the plunger on the top of the door- the silver lever above the power window controls) in the "up" or "unlock" position and keep holding it up with your left hand. Don't let go until step 5 is completed. 3. With your right hand, quickly insert and remove the key from the ignition switch five times within 10 seconds, then insert the key the sixth time and leave it in the ignition switch. This means only inserting the key, NOT turning it to any position such as I, II, or III. All the doors will lock and unlock to indicate that the control unit is in the program mode. 4. Press either button on the replacement transmitter. All the doors except the driver's door will lock and unlock to indicate that the control unit has accepted the transmitter into its memory. If either transmitter button is pressed again, all the doors will lock and unlock. 5. To program a second transmitter, press either button on that transmitter. The doors should lock and unlock as described in step 4. This also means that ALL transmitters, even the original one if you are adding another, must be programmed in this step. It seems that the systems "forgets" any previous programs whenever you enter the above mode. 6. Release the driver's master door lock switch. 7. To exit the program mode, close the driver's door or remove the key from the ignition switch. I hope that helps anyone else who needs this info. -Ken- |
