My bumper has a minor chirp in the right rear corner. Since mine was #2 off the manual production, it is more than likely different from what yours is going to be. Mine was hand-built so the fit is good, but not absolutely perfect. I love it though and wouldn't trade it for anything. The welds are nothing short of phenomenal though. The departure angle you gain with it is the stuff envious Xterra owners are made of! It kicks @#$!!!

Um, they're all hand built, CALMINI doesn't have any robots yet...
And the departure angle is unchanged from stock, unless you count the spare tire hanging underneath.

For the most part though. The rear plastic bumper corners are the main vulnerable areas as they're behind the tires. |

Excuse me for actually having to state this. My spare tire is no longer dragging the ground and my trailer hitch is now located some 8-9" higher than it was. Due to that, departure angle is not "stock". Unless you do not have a hitch, you will gain departure angle. Obviously I need to hold some peoples hand every step of the way! You know what the @#$% I mean XOC!
As for the bumper, Steve had indicated to me that the first two delivered were either hand-cut or some such thing. There was a difference since they were the guinea pigs. Beyond that I don't know for sure, I am just going by what he told me. Maybe hand-built was the wrong terminology, for you anyway. |

Thanks Gordon!
Xterraparts accidentally shipped me only half of my bumper last week! The other half arrives on Monday! I'll post my comments that evening about the install. I called Calmini yesterday to get the third brake light, as Xterraparts does not carry it. They are waiting on the lenses and should ship in two weeks.

Congrats Rick, the Calmini rear bumper that I saw at GOX was built very well...just a little better quality then the KMA's huh :finger:
BTW I got a first hand look at the Skid Row rear bumper, it includes some very unique and IMO very useful components on it....I should have pricing/availability for the bumper in about a month.

KMA's.....oooo...Uhhh! I know ChuckH and Schlud put alot of extra effort into getting those things right!
I would have waited a little bit longer for Eric's bumper but my neighborhood has gone bad all of a sudden! So I need to get the spare off the roof and get the Truck in the garage! It'll be nice to see what Eric and you come up with though! EOE and Skid Row products are great! I also decided to have the bumper (part you stand on, not the entire thing!) Rhinolined like Gordon did! I'll have it done Monday when the bumper shows up!

SRBumper
The SRBumper is by far the most functional of all those designed for the Xterra. I got to check it out last weekend!!! I also saw something I didn't think was possible, can't tell ya what it is. The owner made me promise not to.

The departure angle is unchanged bumper for bumper. You did not mention having a trailer hitch on the back. Of course when you're running super difficult trails like this... ...or this... I'm sure that extra clearance comes in handy. When are you going to actually take that thing 4 wheeling Gordon ?
