Re: 440
there are a ton of places to get a 440 rebuilt and/or modified chances are you wont have any problems finding sombody in your area. unless you want to get all crazy and add a custom fuel injection setup with turbos or something like that. it all depends on what you want to do with the engine.
I had a lil trouble finding a supercharger a few years back but I was looking online. turns out there was a guy in my town that specialized in supercharging mopars. after talking with him I decided that a supercharger wasn't for me. so decide what you want the engine to do and how much hp you want. then do some research, look at parts, and other 440 cars see what they have done. after you know what you want go to different shops ask questions. pick one and get it done. |

As in like that supercharger/blower set-up on the 70 charger from fast and the furious????? How much HP/torque would somthin like that add to a 440, cuz I have a 70 charger, with a 440... thanks!

Re: 440
At the national level, Mancini Racing has more goodies and services than any other MOPAR-specific company I've dealt with.
Pretty hard to argue with a well-done 440! GREAT engine. We build a few. Did a 499 (440 with a 4.15" stroke) a couple months ago. ANIMAL! 6.19 in the 1/8 mile, with a relatively stock-bodied '70 Challenger. Bumped the rev limiter at the 1/8, and ran 10.40 in the 1/4, bumping the chip. He CALLS it a "street car"... We're doing another one right now. It will have cross-bolt mains and a BIG roller. Should be some fun! '68 Road Runner "Pro Street". |
