power steering lines
I have a 95 chevy caprice with 5.7. I am replaceing my power sterering line. I went to the auto part store to get the line and was different. one line that came off of the car had a sensor. The one at the auto part store does not. tried to get that line from the dealer its discontniued. Does this pressure swith make a difference? they do sell a pressure swith can this one be put on

Re: power steering lines
Was the line right other than the sensor issue? I wonder if they gave you the return line instead of the pressure??

Re: power steering lines
the sensor is required to prevent stalling / maintain Idle speed when the pump pressure rises..
scrap yard or with flare fittings splice in the T section .. since you went to dealer, I am surprised it is no longer available..try on line to locate the part.. |

Re: power steering lines
Did you actually hold a line and see that there was no port for the switch???
If you go to www.rockauto.com they have better descriptions and they have a few that specifically mention having the port and the picture is the same exact one as the pictures AutoZone and Advance have on their websites. Reason being they are all selling identical parts under their own brand name. Since that switch was on all these cars, not some sort of option I believe all the lines made for it will have the switch it is just not mentioned in the description. Now if you are looking for the actual switch that I believe is harder to find. Just reuse your existing one. If you need a junkyard one you should be able to find one.
