The job of an engineer is to do one of two things, either eliminate the possibility of resonance occuring with any given part under normal operation, or isolate the vibration using proper attachemts. By the way, the H body platform has been scrapped by GM, it was used in limited models throughout the late 90's and early 00's and is now dead, probably because of how poorly it was designed. The line that separates a serious luxury performance car from a boat like the LeSabre is very thin and very grey..

The engineers had to lower the weight of unsprung parts for t he car. That means using the aluminum alloy for the A-arms and other parts where possible to lower that unsprung weight. The tire manufacturers have not kept up with the need for their tires to roll round under the weight of a car. That is the reason that the Hunter 9700 Road-Force Balancing will help with much of the problem. Michelin tires also help because they are better built.

The tenet that the H-body was deficient and used on a limited number of cars is a joke. The leSabers and ParkAves and Bonnevilles and 98s and 88s sold during the 90s is great. I can look around now and find many of them on their 3 or more owner driving them expecting dependability of the parts used--other than UIM!--for lots of drive time. Is the Aurora considered an H? along with the SLS and STS Sevilles? LOTS of them on the road.

After 00 the H bodies each had different cushioning techniques to effect the ride that GM wanted characteristic of each, Park Ave, Bonneville, and LeSabre. GM did make some changes in mounts for cars having problems including the DeVilles and Park Aves.

Alignment also is a factor.

For the guy who had his front wheel bearing serviced: the mechanic probably did not put the brake rotor back on in the same position relative to the hub and a combined out of balance effect is present now.

Z28: cheap brake rotors are too expensive to go for because of the lack of quality of manufacture. I can't afford to buy cheap stuff. You're right.

I bought Raybestos top line and have had the smoothest 1998 LeSabre since I replaced all the front brake parts. They are balanced. Original rotors were not good.

Re: 2004 LeSabre Vibration Problem

I have a 2005 Lesabre and am having the same problem as every one else with the Vibration. I am ready to try new brake rotors. What are some high quality rotors. I have replaced the tire with Michellin Harmonys, done the road force balance, been to three tire dealers, the Michelins are the third set of tires and have worked with the dealer until totally frustrated.

Re: 2004 LeSabre Vibration Problem

I had the very same issue with a Bonneville, the same GM frame. and it drove me nuts and then I finally fixed the problem.

If the tires have a good balance and the motor mounts are in good shape and if the vehicle has over 50,000 miles, there is a GOOD chance that it is the much overlooked shocks or struts. Buy good one like KYB, not the mass marketed names. I put these on my car and it was instantly fixed. If I had done this sooner I would have saved alot of money on other wasted attempts.
