AMC 360 Crankshaft Help

I just bought a 360 engine and found out it doesn't have the centering flange on the rear of the crankshaft. So it must be from a 1970 engine , can I use it with a newer flywheel or do I need to change cranks?? Thanks for any help.

all i run is amc's and as far as i know you should be able to use you newer stuff. Amc v8s are externally balanced the flywheel has to be balanced to the rotating Assembly.

I have found the crankshafts without the centering flange are common with standard transmissions with the flywheel, which is what you may have. The 360 engine was not used until late 1971.
