Enigine Swap
I have a Neon with the DOHC engine, it was suffering from some pinging, and then the engine just froze up. I had this problem when still under warranty, and Dodge supposedly "fixed" it. The problem came back, and they refused to help because my warranty had expired. Enough ranting, my engine is gone. I have heard of people swapping in an eclipse turbo'd engine, but can't find any info on kits or anything. Has anyone here heard of it, or know where I can find more info? Thanks!

If your motor froze within 12 months/12000 miles of the service for the pinging they should still fix it. Ask some people over at www.neons.org about swapping the motors. There are a handful of people there that have 2.4L motors etc.

I dont think that I ever heard of the eclipse before, but I have personally seen a 2.4L stratus in one of them.. Just another option for you

Never heard of an Eclipse engine swap myself....
However, the Stratus engine is almost a direct bolt-on swap... The engine mounts need slight modifications, but you can purchase a kit for this...I suggest TTI Racing's kit. (http://www.ttiracing.com) Most neon owners who do the 2.4l swap use the stratus engine...actually all that I've been privied to know have.

ok thanks, I'm hearing the same thing on other boards too. Most people seem to do the stratus engine swap. Thanks for the link, I'll look into it.
