Question 65 skylark g/s 425cid

so a guy is trying to sell me a 65 skylark (numbers matching) with the original 425cid engine with dual quads. i say no way.. am i right? thanks

You are right. The engine is not original to the car, and is probably out of a Riv or Wildcat.
I think 'numbers matching' is bogus too, if it is a 425.

All GM intermediates were not available with the big V8s until 66 or 67.

So the biggest original engine for a Skylark was a small v8, (330 or 340 I think)

Still, its a rare intake and would be a worthwhile car, so long as the asking price is not too high.
