Blazer -98 radio aux input
I would like to connect my mp3-player to aux input of the radio/cassette player. Have anybody done adapter for this? I know that they are selling it, but how difficult it would be to do it yourself??? Does somebody have schematics from radio??

Re: Blazer -98 radio aux input
the easiest and cheapest way i found was to go to walmart and buy a cassette adapter for about $8
put that in a tape player and plug it into your mp3 player, sound quality is just about as good as using RCA cables. |

Re: Blazer -98 radio aux input
I tried to use a cassette adapter in my 02 blazer, and it just kept ejecting the tape. It did work in my wifes Honda.

Re: Blazer -98 radio aux input
Try rewind and fast forward a few times. I used to have a 98 cavalier that was very touchy with the cassette addapters. My Blazer was when I first stuck it in but now it works fine.
Also make sure you can turn the wheels of the adapter with your fingers. It should turn one way but not the other way. Another thing to try is to change the wire so it comes from the other end and stick it in upside down. |

I have also tried these adapters, but they won't work. If I could have schematics or some information I could make an adapter for that.

Re: Blazer -98 radio aux input
You could also try the mini FM transmitters. But I have always found that they are marginal at best, weak signal and not very loud. Usually you have to keep the transmitter right next to the radio or on the dash near your antenna which is out of reach of the driver. :-(

Yes I have one of those transmitters just front of me. It goes back to the shop I bought it. Made in China, piece of crap....

Re: Blazer -98 radio aux input
I have a 2000 blazer with the cd player radio that has as an option for a tape deck between the dash & the console. I've thought about trying to tap into the harness to find the audio inputs for the tape deck & hook up an aux plug for my mp3 player. might need a trigger lead too, but who knows... it might work...
