well our pathfinders starter went tonight and im just wondering how had it is to replace it by a meduim skilled mech (my step dad and I) well we are probly going to get it taken into the nissan dealer. but i just wanted to now if its that damn hard (this truck has been through a rollover one winter, which had to have the complete roof cut off and a new one put on)
ok well looks like he wants to do it himself but i am wondering if it could be the starter relay (sorry havent had the time to look at the problem and i think it could be the starter relay from other peoples problems with pathfinders on the net that i have found but i am wanting to get a diagram and instructions to replace the parts, since the day they bought the truck i have told them to get the haynes manual for the truck but they said they wouldnt need it ("i told you so" doesnt really say it now!)
funny thing is my mother thinks my stepdad knows more about the truck then i do (im 15) but i am the one that acually knows more about the truck because of working on newer vehicles at gm and a bit at chrysler (he has no experience with electronics (his sons and i had to show him how to use the stereo in the truck and the computer! (still doesnt get either)
with the truck he doesnt even change his god damn oil!
ive been doing that since i was 9 with my father!
at this point i am at a screming match with my mother trying to explain to her it could be the starter relay and not the $250 starter, but she wont listen because she thinks my stepdad knows everything!
funny thing is they are wanting to put the truck onto the ramps and take out the starter before they even find out what si the actual problem they are thinking ats the starter because a frecking tow truck driver said its the starter because it wouldnt start! btu they did get it to start and drive home so that is why i am saying its the starter relay
because if the starter is gone the truck couldnt have started correct?
if the relay was gone the starter could be jumped and the truck will be able to drive home?
