Cut Springs?

Anybody got instructions on how to cut my springs? It's just temporary, and I would want to do it somehow right (less bounce effect)!
Please don't tell me not to do it, b/c i'm going to and i'd really like to do it semi-correct, so any info would help! thx.

Dude, I've said it once and I'll say it again. When it comes to your car, DO NOT CUT ANY CORNERS! Don't try to "save money" but doing shit to your which will either fuck it up or make it look shit. That's the ricer way of doing it. They find cheaps ways to do things that require a lot more time and moneys, such as lowering your car.

Please, don't cut your springs. Work and save up $200 and buy yourself some Eibach Sportlines. You'll thank me later.

You go Brice.

To do it (cough, cough, uh-humm) "right" (gagg) you need to remember that by cutting your springs you are also raising their rate. So, the "bouncing feeling" comes that the stock shocks aren't designed to handle whatever the hell the spring rate, or series of different spring rates corner to corner (most likely), you end up with which is fairly unpredictuable when cutting stock progressive springs. And since all people that are cheap enough to cut or clamp springs a few months before they get better springs are also too cheap to buy descent, much less matching shocks or good adjustable shocks, they end up with a bouncy-bouncy handles like crap, "slammed" ride.

As far as cutting them, which will cost you just as much as new set of springs unless you already have the tools, you will need at least a Dremel and preferably something a few ticks up the cutting tool food chain in order to cut the springs. The general rule for how much to cut is when you've cut enough off that you like how it looks you've cut off 1.5" more then you should have.

Have fun.
