If you have the stock head unit for the IS300 then you're SOL.
The rear speakers have 2 speakers there, the mid/high range speaker is stacked on top of the 6x9 woofer, sub whatever you want to call those cheap speakers. If you buy just a 2-way or 3-way 6x9 then you can either only hook up the low or mid range sound to them (there are 2 separate wires coming from the amp running the speakers and they aren't full range) I know cuz I bought a 6x9 set of speakers and the shop went to install them, he came back 15 minutes later and said he totaly forgot about the IS rear speakers being that setup so there was no charge to me. Get a new head unit if you're gonna upgrade your speakers good luck! Anyone correct me if I'm wrong. |

What I'm trying to do is leave the stock unit.
Run it off an amp which power the new set of speakers. Would this be possible? HOw? Still don't know how to get to the rear speaker in order to replace it. thanks |
