Unhappy Exhaust Gasket

Just trying to do a little research for a friend of mine. She owns a 95 geo tracker and thinks she blew the gasket on her exhaust. If this is the case and it needs to be replaced does anyone have any idea how complex this job is to do in order to replace this part??? I don't have the manual on her car so DIY info would be much appreciated.

Re: Exhaust Gasket

really it shouldnt be that hard of a job.. one thing i do recommend before taking it on though, is getting a manual, if you can find a haynes manual.. thats what i would get. it'll help a great deal.

Re: Exhaust Gasket

depends on what gasket it is, if its the flange gasket at the end of the pipe that comes from the manifold its not too hard, the hardest part about it is if the bolts have never been removed before. My girlfriends one day just got loud out of nowhere, we replaced that gasket and the old one was just desinigrated, put the new one in and tightened it down, quiet as can be again.
