I thought that GM kinda dropped the ball for the 50th.
And the Le Mans Edition is sleepy too. I sure hope the 04' isn't following these leads. |

Well, basically the 50th Anniversary was an emblem car.
All 03's got the 50th gray/silver 50th badging. The only specific "Anniversary" edition was the '50th Anniversary Red' that closely resembles the magnesium red that already exists. The interior get's a unique shayle or gray colored dash and 50th floor mats. All the technical aspects, motor, drivetrain including suspension is the same than ANY 03' and now 04' model would recieve. The upgraded F45 or F55 magnetic ride shock system was slated for the 03' model year regardless of the 50th celebration, and that's still an option buy. Ideally, and I honestly believe that GM intended the C6 to be the 50th car which would have made the most sense. Slight updated body stylings from the C5, the much talked about HP upgrade to 400 for the LS1, and 450 for the LS6(ZO6). Enter Bob Lutz. Control-Alt-Delete those plans! Once Lutz nixed those plans, that left GM scrambling for something for 03' and the 50th, and now the inbetweener year of 04' hence the Le Mans Edition. That's my opinion...
