As I told Chris, I'm really surprised they only had 4 regular road cars. There were many stories of 8-10 McLarens in Brunei, and I had often suspected that meant road cars and was not inclusive of the special F1s they had. I am glad to be wrong.

Shame they have/had the Cobalt Blue car. I'd really like to see that one and we probably never will.

I'm also happy to get solid confirmation they had the GT. There's been stories that have both confirmed and denied that fact. I do hope that it has managed to get out of Brunei and if it does have a home in England, that's wonderful.

Re: Brunei Mclarens Revealed!!!!!!

Oh my! What an incredible list! I'm sorry to say that the F1 stats are not as impressive as the entire car list here. I would be more happy to see some pics like anyone else of course. But still good to have accounted for, which one left for Brunei originally.

Man, how many XJ220's was that??? super list, FINALLY some stats of this well-heard-off collection get out.

8-10 standard F1s would be a little excessive! I figured it was 8-10 out of every type made. I am surprised that there are almost as many LMs and standard F1s. I guess this also confirms that McLaren had 01R with them, but I don't know where that is now...

Re: Brunei Mclarens Revealed!!!!!!

Just thought I would preserve the location/GPS coordinates here as well. Use the airport runway on the far right and the heart-shaped breakwater of the marina on the left to get your bearings and orientation:

Re: Brunei Mclarens Revealed!!!!!!

Upon examination of the closeup, I suspect the coordinates are off by a little bit. I think the cars are housed in the buildings circled in yellow. If you look at the blurry pic of the garage, it can only be the building at the top right--note the football-shaped skeletal building behind it and how only its top right right portion is visible. In the same picture, you can see the diamond tile pattern on the floor in front of the garage. These are visible in the courtyard between the buildings in the satellite pic below.

Edit - ok, it's actually the building in the middle. This confused me a little at first, but I finally solved the mystery by studying the shadows. The front of the middle building's courtyard casts a shadow, implying that it is raised up. And if you look at the black strips running up the middle of each of the side buildings, and notice the triangular shadows, you will see that they are sloping ramps! Also, the diamond pattern is not in front of the lower part of the buildings on each side.

So, the best cars seem to be taken to the upper storey and displayed in the building in the middle. That explains why, in the photo of the cars, only the top horizontal rib and the upper part of the sloping end of the football-shaped building is visible. In the satellite picture, you can see at least two ribs on each side, and if the picture was taken at the ground floor, then both or the bottom one would be visible as the camera is not angled upwards. I will upload the coordinates later. And, if you look at the picture of the garages again, you can see a guardrail, confirming that it is taken on a higher level that someone could fall off from! The guardrail is different in colour, thickness, etc. from the other skeletal building's girders. And it's faintly visible in the satellite picture as well, I think.

Am I good or what?

Re: Brunei Mclarens Revealed!!!!!!

My point is, those coordinates are wrong. Well, slightly off, at least.

Unless the McLarens are housed separately in that building. But then why would the replica be in the other building in the photo. And why would the LM be painted in front of the other building? It could happen, but it would be unlikely, IMO. Especially since the building referenced by the coordinates doesn't seem to have a driveway linking it to the road...I am betting that cars don't go into it.
