The Passion of the Christ

Well, I think everyone has watched this film, right?
It's the most talked movie of the year....
The Passion of The Christ is a controversial film. Piece by piece, it shows the last twelve hours of Jesus, and was filmed in Aramaic and latin ....pretty real ...I was in shock when I watched this film.. hehehe
I saw that the DVD is coming out on the end of the month (8/31), and there are lots of churches pre-ordering lots and lots of copies...
So, this is why I think everyone will talk about The Passion again, and again, and again ... hehehe....

I really enjoyed the movie. Put a lot of things in to perspecitve for me and game me a reality check. I will probably buy the DVD. Don't know if or when I would watch it a second time, but I'd like to have it around.

I haven't watched it and I probably won't. I'm not much for seeing such graphic scenes. I know the story - I just don't want to pay to watch the suffering reinacted.

Re: The Passion of the Christ

i dont plan to watch it either, but for different reasons. that stuff scares the crap outta me. scary movies dont, but religion type stuff for some reason scares me. i guess thats one reason i havent been to a church after my confirmation. i wish i wasnt, but i am o well, thats my only fear. not so much god, just the fact that after seeing it or going to a church knowing all about the evil stuff that is supposedly out there. o well rambling is over

The fact that it creeps you out ought to be telling you something?... Just something to consider.

I'll be getting the movie, however not right away. My best friend hinted that she was getting it for me so i'm gonna have to wait to have it. But i can't wait to watch it again.

That was the most stunningly powerfull film i've ever seen in my life.

Re: The Passion of the Christ

I'll be honest, I havn't seen the movie. Not that I don't want to, its just that I'm terrible at getting around to seeing movies.

From what I've heard, it doesn't sound particularly interesting, like a two hour guilt trip. I'm not religious, but I do believe, and don't need Mel Gibson to help me believe.

Overall I think this movie was just a way for Hollywood to make money off religion. If it truly was just to promote religion, all the profits should have gone to outreach programs.

Thats my 2 cents. However, I'm open minded, so prove me wrong.

I like watching a movie, not reading it.

Re: The Passion of the Christ

heard this movie broke all kind of records when it came out on dvd selling millions of millions of copies the first day...I heard this on the radio and the person made a comment "whether its a good movie or not, I just can't imagine people buying the DVD, this really isnt the type of movie you want to put in on a friday nite and watch with some friends" hehe i thought that was funny...but im betting most people that buy the dvd arent ever going to watch it..they just got it as a collectors item or something

I dont think it broke any record. Finding Nemo still has the record on most sales the first week (heard this on Bob and Tom).

I have no intention of watching this. I watched the south park episode and that was good enough.

I waited until it came out on DVD and rented it..I didn't really think it was all they said it was. Hopefully it's not true or I am not going up when I go.

Nothing like a nice scourging, followed by a crucifixion to brighten the day. I thought the last scene was cheesy as hell though. It was like something you'd see out of Terminator. I half-expected Jesus to say something like 'I'll be back' when they nailed him to the cross.
