5sfe question
the early 90's celicas and mr2's, from my perceived knowledge, share the same motor. However, one's a rear mounted and the other a front. Could I use a celica 5sfe with an mr2 transaxle? its somewhat hard to find mr2 things on the web, and i need to build a vehicle. For what I'm doing, its hard to find a rear mounted 5speed for cheap

Re: 5sfe question
This is disappointing. I have three threads(all about separate things) and yet, not a single person out of all the members has even attempted to help.

Re: 5sfe question
Sorry dude, I'd like to help but to be honest with ya... I just dont know. I'd imagine it'd be hard to find a rear mounted 5spd anything for a low price! You'd probably be lucky to find a wreck and buy the whole thing. As far as slappin a Celica 5sfe on a MR2 transaxle you'd best be cruisin' some toyota specific forums. Good luck.

Re: 5sfe question
D Street,
I would start at the motor mounts to see if they are in the same location, my 90 Celica with 5S -FE has one in the front of the engine, one at the rear of the engine at the bottom and one on the driver's side. There are supposed to be 4, but, I have only found 3 on my car. Good luck... |
