The last time a Maserati won a sports car endurance race was in 1957 when Juan Manuel Fangio and Jean Behraa won the 12 Hours of Sebring in a Maserati 450S, two laps ahead of a Maserati 300S driven by Stirling Moss and Harry Schell. It was also Maserati's last victory in the U.S. with a factory car.
