91 cutlass ceira Sound system?
How would i go about installing a cd player and maby a sub or two in this car? if any one could help i would really be happy because my tape deck dosent even work.

I would ditch the stock wiring and just replace it all with new wires to your CD player and speakers.
The factory system is crapppy and when used with after market radios it can cause problems.

How would i go about doing this? Im 16 and dont now anything about rewiring a car thats my age... is there place with directions and were do i get the wires?

You can get a wiring kit from wal-mart or meijer, but it will rip you off. Basically you just need some speaker wire, and 18-gauge wire, but you might not need to, to check the speaker wires get a AA battery and touch both wires to each end, if it makes a scratchy noise, they're good, if, they're not.
A cd deck is easy to install, just look up the wiring setup for your system in a haynes manuel or something And don't waste your money on a wiring harness, you can easily cut the wires at the boot and hard wire it and save like $20, but be advised, it is a bit tricky if you dont know anything. I was just like you 2 years ago on my first car, so dont worry, some common sense and mild electrical know-how will help you out just fine. |
