Is changing the Timing Belt Difficult ?

I changed the timing belt in my '93 Geo Metro - very easy.

I have a '93 Geo Tracker 4 cyl. also.

Is changing the timing belt in the Tracker equally easy?

Re: Is changing the Timing Belt Difficult ?

It's a snap! 1 1/2 hour job. I cut away a lot of plastic from top of the fan shroud with a drimmel tool, and everything just fell off into my hands. The missing plastic has zero effect on cooling. It's there to protect fingers from the fan.

you can remove everything very easy without cutting it away. its just a little of a tedious job just like any other replacement. one tip would be is if you have a manual transmission make sure its it gear and that will keep the gears from moving which helps a great deal (just replaced mine with the water pump and had not movement). good luck
