Angry Whats wrong >>>

Car?? 1963 Impala... Problem ???

WHEN I BOUGHT IT A FEW YRS AGO I WAS TOLD IT WAS ALL ORIGINAL< bUT NOW I AM NOT SURE. after TRYING TO LOOK AT THE NUMBERS ON THE BLOCK I THINK IT MIGHT HAVE A 305 IN IT.

MY PROBLEM? LET ME EXPLAIN.

i WAS TOLD THE CAR SAT FOR 20 YRS SO put the intake back on and had the carb rebuilt. the 4 brl Rochester. Also put a new tank, sending unit, fuel pump and it ran good for a couple of yrs.....then it started giving me problems. The guy that originally rebuilt the carb retired and can't be found. SO, I bought an Edelbrock 600, but the same issues. It gets hot then runs out of gas and dies. Acts like it's getting Vapor Lock. Put a 1/4" insulating gasket but still same problem...
Brand new Glass filter,,,,,,

ANY IDEAS ?????

Well when it dies does the carb have gas in it? How are the rubber fuel lines, should have been replaced by now, you may have some crap in the tank, if the pick up still has the filter sock on it that could be clogged, lots of possibilities here.
