Cool Need a Transmission controller for an '86 635CSI. Can a brother get some help?

Hello friends, My 6 is stuck in 3rd gear and it seems to be the transmission controller causing the problem (part number 0260002007). From what I understand, they only put this part in for a couple of years. We are having trouble tracking one down.

Do you have any clues where I might find one?

You guys helped me with a sunroof leak last year after a week or so of head scratching.

Thanks for the forum.

your pal
Bob

Did you ever find out the answer to this? My 1985 635 did the same thing. The car would go into 4th and then kick down into 3d and stay there. No one told me it could be a transmission controller. I ended up putting a new tranny in at great expense. I'd like to talk to you about this offline. Could you please call or e-mail me? Porter 978-210-5620, pmcmanus@mcmanus-group.com

Hello Porter, I have not found the part but the guy who works on mine has it narrowed down to this part. I have a clicking noise when I try to start the car. It comes from the automatic shifter (between the seats) like and electrical short or something. It was shorting out and would work sometimes but went out all together. And it was stuck in 3rd.
He feels strongly that this will fix my problem.
my number is 239.218.9334, feel free to give me a call.
thanks
Bob
