I need help!
Gentlemen…
I have been trying to find a comprehensive wiring diagram for the ignition circuitry for my hot rod project. I am building a street/bracket racer using a 1962 Dodge Lancer (Valiant).I plan to go with an MSD system and whatever hardware that goes with it.My problem is that I cannot find a schematic that includes the entire (under hood) electrical system.I want to start at the battery and go forward to complete a diagram that will include the ignition key, two electric cooling fans, and an electric water pump.I do not plan to run an alternator, or any belt-driven equipment. Not being an automotive electrician, I am finding that I need some serious help to draw up this diagram.I need the diagram to include water temp sensors that will turn the fans and water pump on and off, but I want to have an over-ride switch for the fans and pump, as well.I plan to use a heavy equipment battery which will be placed in the trunk right over the differential hump, and 2/0 battery cabling to the starter.I plan to run a 2/0 ground cable to the frame and two braided ground cables from the firewall to the engine block. If any of you guys can help me, I would certainly appreciate it. I understand how to read a schematic, or wiring diagram, but I just don’t know what this system is going to need in the way of parts, and in what order to place them.If there is a question of polarities, I will need both plus (+) and minus (-) signs to guide me, i.e., the ignition coil, etc. Let me recap; I need a complete ignition and electrical diagram for my car.Superfluous wiring, such as lights, heater fan, windshield wipers, radio, etc. will not be necessary, as I have not disconnected any of that equipment. I can be reached at studiog@suddenlink.net . Please understand that I am serious and would appreciate only sincere efforts to help.Thank you, SO much! Im2old2 |
