01 6.0 or a 98 SV
I am close to buying an 01 with 10k miles on it. Is it safe to asssume that the Audi engineering on the 01 is more reliable as far as repairs and wear then the older years? Is the clutch any stronger? Any info on the 01 is appreciated, as I am not to sure about this subject.
Does anyone know the performance and track specs of an 01? |

Steve, all three major U.S. magazines tested the 6.0 at 0-60 in the 3.5 second range, 0-100 in the low 8 second range, and the 1/4 in 11.8 to 12.2 @ 122mph.
The 6.0 isnt any more reliable than an Sv. Both are great cars. The Sv is 2 wheel drive and lighter, and faster than a 6.0 on anything but a dead stop launch. I know several people who have both Sv's and 6.0, and both have been amazingly trouble free.I am also one of those Sv owners. 5 years, no problems, original clutch, and i spray nitrous. The 6.0 has an awesome interior, but i prefer the SV's more aggresive exterior styling.

Thanks for the info, what mods can I do to make it faster? Is it worth taking out the front driveshaft to eliminate the awd? Ive heard it saves the clutch and is more fun to drive.

Hiphophomer, the Sv is faster than the 6.0.. Substantially less weight, and the rate the Sv at 530hp, same as the VT and Roadster, but the SV has ram air, which isnt factored into the equation. 6.0 has 20 more hp, but much more weight, no ram air.
Mods for the Diablo are the same no matter which model. Change exhaust and air filters. You lose about 90pds of weight, and if you go with no cats, pick up about 40rwhp.

There are no Gt's in America, and the few that are here are way too rediculously expensive.
