What age are you guys mostly, and what kind of work do you do?
I have been on this site for some time, and really like my Silvy alot...I was trying to pay atttention, to see what type of people drive these trucks....I see most people, that are between the age's of 30- and 40, driving around, not alot of older or younger people...but that could be just in my area. Also, most people I see do some kind of work with their trucks, so I was wondering what kind of work....So why doesn't everyone list how old they are and what type of work they do, so we can see that Chevy type of guys or gals....(yet to see a gal driving a Silvy...but anywho...).....

Re: What age are you guys mostly, and what kind of work do you do?
Is over 30 that bad? I still feel like I'm about 24-25... LOL. Actually, I'm 31 but still get carded at the liquor stores every now and then. I take it as a compliment! I'm a telecommunications tech. We have a contract with BellSouth and do most of their equipment installation. I travel all over the southeast and try to keep the miles off my silvy. I've got a 88 s-15 that does most of the work, although the gas mileage isn't much better than my full size. I'd guess-ti-mate that I put about 40k+ per year on a vehicle. The last 2 years I wore out a 95 grand am. Just sold it about a month ago with 198k on it, then found this cheap little s-15 w/ only 112k on it. If it lasts a year I'll be happy.

Re: What age are you guys mostly, and what kind of work do you do?
I'm 20, but don't tell the guy at the liquor store . Going to college to be a mechanic. 'Round where I live, most of the pickup drivers are 35+, mini trucks go down to 16 or thereabout. Meet some of the older C/K drivers at the auto parts stores (most love my truck ... dunno why, it's all stock).... most of them just getting oil/air filters. The Chevys are truly great trucks (older ones anyway, heard some bad things about the newer ones... may just be cause a newer trucks shouldn't have ANY problems). I'll be very suprised if mine doesn't go at least 200,000 miles (high performance engine just waiting to be dropped in)... gets a beating almost every day, and just asks for more!

Re: What age are you guys mostly, and what kind of work do you do?
looks like i am the old man of the forum at 42, i am a FAA airframe and powerplant mechanic for most of my career. now i estimate over and above structural repairs for L-3 communications an aircraft modification facility.have had chevys all my life and not only trucks. my 02 Z71 was the first brand new vehicle (other than motorcycles) i have ever owned so i went all out and got the four wheel drive with all the bells and whistles.

Re: What age are you guys mostly, and what kind of work do you do?
Now that someone else got the "older than me" tag..
I am 38 and work for a large city as an Engineer Associate, I do field engineering for the water/wastewater utility. I make sure the contractors, utility crews and engineers meet the specifications and still provide usable creations and repairs that work in the field.
