98 eldorado cadillac rke doors and truck wont work gas lid will

CAN SOMEONE HELP WITH THIS CADILLAC ELDORADO 1998 THE GAS LID WORKS WITH REMOTE BUT THE TRUNK AND DOORS WILL NOT WHEN USING THE REMOTE. THE DOOR LOCKS WORK ON THE INSIDE CAR BUTTONS ALSO THE TRUNK WORKS FINE WITH THE INSIDE BUTTONS BUT THEY WILL NOT WITH THE KEYLESS REMOTE SYSTEM. I have both fob 1 and fob 2. THEY ALWAYS DID BEFORE.

Inside the glovebox of my 96 eldo are 2 pushbuttons, one labled "traction off" the other "valet" The valet button disables the elec. trunk, fuel door, door locks so those can't be voluntarily accessed with out the round key. You have activated the valet and need to hit the button once to disable it. all should return to normal.

We have done that. The fuel lid still works with the fob. We also tried to reset the system by holding the lock switch on the inside of the drivers door for 3 seconds like the car manual said., still no luck. We also checked the fob at auto zone and they said that they r working (remote). so any other advise would be greatly appreciated..... Thanks for the reply any more ideas!

Try this, wiggle the connections under the driver seat. There are several modules under the seat. I had an issue after spilling a mtn dew under there. Aslo, if you pulled the screws out of the box and pull it, you can disconnect the switch plug & jump the connector although it's unlikely the switch has failed it may be faulty. As you know we have a potential for mega electrical problems they are usually caused by something very simple-unfortunately not simple to find. There is fuse panel on the driver fender that is known to corrode the fuse connectors but most body circuits fuses are in the trunk mounted in back of the driver side rear seat. The trunk liner panel comes off easily with the 4 black plastic fasteners that will unscrew off & push back on located on the rear speaker deck.
